•Piers Park – Picturesque views of the downtown skyline can be seen across Boston Harbor from this park. Brick and granite materials that were used to build the old seawall now line the trails that wind through the park. Many seasonal flowers can be seen blooming in the gardens during certain times of the year. Other features of the park include an amphitheater, a spray pool and the Piers Park Sailing Center.
•Historic Structures – Several homes and other structures that date back to the area’s early days still stand in parts of the neighborhood. Many of these buildings can be seen in the Eagle Hill Historic District. The Donald McKay House is the former residence of a famous ship builder. Some of the neighborhood’s earliest residents have their final resting places at the Bennington Street Burying Ground, which has been in operation since 1838. The current building that houses the Baker Congregational Church has been standing since 1903. The Nantucket Lightship/LV-112, which originally launched in 1936, now sits moored at the Boston Harbor Shipyard and Marina and can be toured.
